The Onesimus ministry exits to ease the plight of the hundreds of children that are living on the streets due to various reasons. Some flee to the streets due to irresponsible parents and guardians who abuse drugs, alcohol and even the children. Others end up on the street because of the poverty that is prevalent in the country and some because they become orphans from deceased parents of AIDS.

Onesimus operates a drop in centre and residential homes where children can receive  support, counselling, rehabilitation, housing and an education. More importantly Onesimus ministry offers the children love, hope, family and even faith.

Rape and sexual assault continue to be a setback in children’s life and development in Malawi. Very little support is currently available to victims of rape and sexual assault here.

This project aims to turn victims into survivors, starting with a small number of pilots. They will establish a crisis hotline, train ‘comforters’ in the local community, link victims to social services, lawyers, medical officers, counselling and support groups, etc.
